What is the difference between Stainless Steel and Aluminum?
There is not much difference functionality-wise between stainless and aluminum. Weight and durability are almost the same. The big difference is aluminum, uncoated, contains toxins.
SIGG aluminum bottles are lined with an FDA approved coating so they prevent toxins from leaching into the liquid.

Stainless steel on the other hand, does not need to be lined since it is inert (non-leaching). Nubius Organics carries only high quality food-grade stainless steel bottles, coated with FDA approved toxin-free coatings, but not all bottles are manufactured this way. Buyers need to be aware of quality, since some bottles are coated with lead-based paint.

Why are Stainless Steel Bottles Made in China?
Klean Kanteen, New Wave Enviro, and Earthlust (as are all stainless steel bottles currently on the market) are made in China. All Nubius Organics products are manufactured in factories that adhere to fair trade guidelines, so workers are paid fair wages and provided healthy and safe working conditions. To date, there has been no cost-effective option for manufacturing stainless steel bottles in the US.

Are the caps toxin free?
Caps for our stainless steel bottles are made from non-toxic and non-leaching polypropylene #5.

Are bottle caps interchangeable?
Most bottles have caps that are interchangeable within the same brand, but caps are not interchangeable with bottles produced by different manufacturers.
